Shawati: Picture of Elegance, Sophistication, Versatility and Style

Sharifah Shawati Syed Mohd is synonymous to fashion sense and image transformation. An Image Consultant who is also a member of the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI) and now the author of the first image book thoroughly written in Bahasa Malaysia titled “Imej-Diri Anda Aset Anda” which means “Image-You Are Your Best Asset”, she is committed to excellence and is driven by the desire to empower others to their fullest potential.

Sharifah Shawati has also been recognized as a Certified Image Consultant (Foundation and Advanced Level) by Association of Image Consultant International (AICI). She was very fortunate to be under the tutelage

of the masters in the industry such as Lynne Marks, the President of London Image Institute and Christina Ong, Principal Consultant of Imageworks Asia. The certification enables her to do seminars on “Image Building for Business Attire and Etiquette” and  ColourStyle analysis.

She also has a certification from Colourflair Studios, trained by London-based maestro Pat Scott Vincent. In addition , she also has attended various workshops on colours such as ‘Talking Image’ conducted by Toshiko Kobate , a very well known Japanese colour consultant based in London.

Sharifah Shawati is also a Certified Hairstylist and she has a Diploma in Hairdressing from the A Cut Above Academy, the most prestigious hairdressing school in Malaysia.

She is also one of Kuala Lumpur’s upcoming entrepreneurs and has her own hair studio .

She is the founder of Adamaya Hairstudio and Adamaya Image Consultancy which offers image transformation and branding as a whole package . Adamaya Hairstudio has been involved in many major events such as sponsoring reality TV shows, doing make-up and hairstyle makeovers for celebrities and well known artistes in Malaysia . Her company also does image transformation for brides to be and TV personalities. Her clients include corporate , media organizations and individual groups.

Her journey as a public figure commenced when she took up the challenge of being a TV presenter/news anchor at Radio Television Malaysia (RTM). After five years at RTM ,  with the understanding of what being a public figure entails , Shawati then joined the private TV station , TV3 . Her repertoire of skills was expanded during her eight fruitful years at the station. Amongst her various assignments were as a compere for live talk shows on women’s issues such as

‘Fashion’, ‘Di sebalik Tabir’ and ‘Wanita Hari Ini’ and also as a news anchor for the prime time bulletins. Her years in broadcasting had also afforded her the opportunity to appear as a public speaker emceeing numerous social and business events.

To add to her roll of honors,  she has a Diploma  and   a   Bachelors  Degree   in Business Management from the Dublin Metropolitan  University   in   Ireland.

She was recognised as the “Wanita Ikon 2007″ (Iconic Woman of Year 2007) by the Wanita Magazine in Malaysia.

She was also a part time model with the Shasha Model Agency during her early working years. This was the time when she was introduced to the importance of grooming.

In her early days, she was certified as a choreographer and dance teacher by Benny School of Dancing , one of Kuala Lumpur’s well known dance schools. The grace and elegance that she is famously known for are the result of the experience she gathered during her 7 year tenure as a Flight Supervisor for Malaysia Airlines which stresses on the importance of grooming and deportment.

Through the years she has acquired numerous accreditations and recognition pertaining to her fashion sense and style such as being chosen as one of Malaysia’s ten most glamorous women by two of Kuala Lumpur’s top fashion magazines ‘Glam’ and ‘Eh’.

Catch her on the screen again hosting a reality show on the Malaysian channel , TV9 called “Gadis Melayu” on every Thursday night 9:30pm.
